Christine Taylor Talks Rekindling Marriage with Ben Stiller During Pandemic

{content:

"We found this way back," the actress recalled to Drew Barrymore.

Christine Taylor is opening up about rekindling her relationship with her husband Ben Stiller after a few years of separation.

While appearing on Tuesday's episode of "The Drew Barrymore Show," the actress recalled how she and Stiller reconciled during the pandemic.

The couple -- who shares daughter Ella, 20, and son Quinlin, 17, -- tied the knot in 2000, and announced their separation in 2017. Nearly five years later, Stiller revealed he and Taylor had reconciled.

"It was for us," Taylor, 51, told Barrymore. "We got married very quickly after meeting each other. We knew each other six months, got engaged, we were married within a year, and then had Ella the next year."

"Family was always a priority, but I think Ben and I both sort of started to grow in different directions. And when we made the decision to separate, it was not something we wanted to talk publicly about," she continued. "It was not something we took lightly either. It was sort of like, we're both at sort of this impasse of, like, let's figure out what's best? Like, what is best for us at this chapter in our lives? This is going back three or four years."

"The Wedding Singer" star said she and Stiller's "time apart" allowed each of them to "get to know who we are." She added, "I think we have these growth spurts, even as adults. And I feel like we needed just some time to figure that out."

However, Taylor stressed that even while they were separated, she and Stiller "always stayed a family unit" and "continued to do things together."

And after the pandemic began, the then-exes decided to quarantine together with their two kids under one roof.

"When the pandemic hit, and we all had to sort of figure out where we were gonna hunker down, we all ended up in our house together with two teenagers, and we found this way back," Taylor told Barrymore. "We had so much time to talk. There were no other distractions. It was a really special time for us, for the family."

"It just happened organically, and naturally for us," she added.

Stiller, 57, confirmed that he and Taylor were back together in an interview with Esquire in February 2022.

As Taylor noted during her appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," Stiller said he and Taylor decided that he should move back into the family home so he would be able to see their kids during quarantine.

"Then, over the course of time, it evolved," he recalled. "We were separated and got back together and we're happy about that."

"It's been really wonderful for all of us," he added. "Unexpected, and one of the things that came out of the pandemic."

The "Dodgeball" star went on to share details about what his marriage to Taylor is like now.

"I think we have a respect for the ways that we're similar and the ways we're different," Stiller said. "And I think accepting that, you can really appreciate someone more because you're not trying to get them to change for you."

"Once you accept that, you save a lot of energy," he noted. "'This is something that works for me; this is something that doesn't work for me.' If you have that trust level with your partner, you know that me saying 'I don't like doing that thing' is not me saying 'I don't like you.'"

Ana de Armas and Chris Evans Team Up Again in Trailer for Action Romance 'Ghosted'

{content:

It's meet-cute turned international espionage in de Armas and Evans' third onscreen collaboration after Knives Out and Gray Man

What could have been another rote rom-com has been shaken (not stirred) in the trailer for Chris Evans and Ana de Armas' latest movie "Ghosted."

As the title implies, the Apple TV+ film begins with the familiar formula of meet-cute turned missed connection but as the trailer progresses we learn it's a bit more like "True Lies" than "When Harry Met Sally."

After a chance encounter, and a steamy hookup, Evans' character Cole is left telling friends he thinks Sadie (de Armas) is "the one." Of course this wouldn't be a story worth telling if they immediately lived happily ever after.

She ghosts him. He flies to London after only one meeting with her to perform what he believes is a "a grand romantic gesture."

From there it's the classic: boy tries to find girl; boy gets kidnapped and tortured; boy miraculously gets saved by girl who turns out to be a secret agent.

Evans looks well-suited for the bewildered Cole and as he learns to fend for himself whilst following de Armas' action heroine his prior superhero chops make for an easy transition.

The filmmakers are surely banking on the co-stars' proven chemistry -- the two were featured in 2019's mega hit "Knives Out" and action film "The Gray Man." And de Armas' action credentials were previously established with her scene-stealing turn in "No Time To Die" and once again in the aforementioned "The Gray Man."

"Ghosted" will start streaming April 21 on Apple TV+.

The movie is directed by Dexter Fletcher and is written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Eugene Levy Says Being Recognized for American Pie Meant Lots of Apple Pie

{content:

"The American Pie thing got a bit tedious," Levy said before gushing over his Schitt's Creek fame

Eugene Levy says his role in "American Pie" had him regularly being pranked for years.

During a Q&A with the Guardian, the 76-year-old "Schitt's Creek" star opened up about getting recognized for the raunchy film series.

"The American Pie thing got a bit tedious," he explained. "People would bring me apple pie every time I went into a restaurant or to a wedding. Which is kind of funny, but it did happen a lot."

Thankfully, he says the Emmy winning "Schitt's Creek" is all anyone "all over the world" wants to talk about with "American Pie" mostly forgotten.

Elsewhere in the interview, he recalled what it was like making the sitcom as a family-led project. Eugene co-created the series with his son Dan Levy, his daughter took on the role of Twyla Sands and his brother Fred produced the show.

"It's one of the true joys of my life that I got the chance to work on a day-to-day basis with my children," he said, admitting. "I always used to envy friends in different professions – a lawyer whose son went to law school or a doctor whose children became doctors – with family businesses. It was a thrilling experience for me."

When "Schitt's Creek" won an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series back in 2020, Eugene and Dan also made history when they won their awards for their performance the same year.

"We're record-breakers – the first ever father and son to win an Emmy in the same year and the first to win for the same show," he said of the proud moment.

"I'm glad we didn't get all those awards in our first or second season. That's a dangerous way to go. Much more satisfying to do it all in our final year, when people had seen all the seasons and got what we were trying to do," Levy reflected.

Paris Hilton Says She Took Quaaludes, Was 'Hammered' to Get Through Sex Tape in New Memoir

{content:

"I felt weird and uncomfortable about it," the hotel heiress recalled in an excerpt from her upcoming book, "Paris: The Memoir."

Paris Hilton is opening up about her infamous 2003 sex tape.

In an excerpt from her upcoming book, "Paris: The Memoir," per The Times, the hotel heiress recalled alleged details behind the recording of the tape, claiming that she was pressured into making it in the first place.

Hilton wrote that she met the man -- whom she referred to by his apparent "nickname "of "Scum" -- in 1999 when she was only 18 years old. Although she didn't mention him by name, the TV personality dated Rick Salomon at the time, and filmed a sex tape with him.

Paris Hilton Tried Sneaking Khloe Kardashian Into a Club as a Teenager

"We started dating, and I have to give credit where credit is due -- it was all very thrilling and naught," Hilton, now 42, recalled. "A whole new brand of adrenaline. I was 18 and obsessed."

"I don't remember that much about the night he wanted to make a videotape while we made love," she continued. "He had often said it was something he did with other women, but I felt weird and uncomfortable about it. I always told him, 'I can't. It's too embarrassing.'"

The DJ claimed that Salomon "kept pushing" her to record a sex tape, and she "kept making excuses."

"I was tipsy and tired from a long night of partying. The lighting wasn't good. My hair and make-up were beyond," she wrote. "He told me I always looked gorgeous no matter what and that it shouldn't matter anyway, because this wasn't a performance. It was just for us. No one else would ever see it."

Hilton alleged that Salomon then gave her an ultimatum. "He told me if I wouldn't do it, he could easily find someone who would, and that was the worst thing I could think of -- to be dumped by this grown man because I was a stupid kid who didn't know how to play grown-up games."

The reality star noted that while people call her a "sex symbol," she "feared" and "hated the idea of sex," writing that she "avoided sex until it was absolutely unavoidable." Hilton added that although there was a "narrative" in the media about her "sleeping around," that was "not the truth at all!"

Noting that she "wasn't capable of the level of trust required" to record a sex tape, the entrepreneur wrote that she "had to drink myself silly," and turned to Quaaludes to "help" her get through it.

"But I did it. I have to own that. I knew what he wanted, and I went with it," she wrote. "I needed to prove something to him and to myself, so I got hammered, and I did it."

Hilton said years after the tape and her split from Salomon, she received a phone call from her manager, who told her "a 37-second video clip of [her] having sex was circulating on the internet." She said she reached out to her ex, and "begged" him not to leak the video. "'Please, please, please, don't do this,'" she wrote of her alleged conversation with her ex.

"He sounded distant and cool, saying it was too late, it was already out there," Hilton wrote.
"He said he had every right to sell something that belonged to him -- something that had a lot of financial value."

"More value than my privacy, obviously. My dignity. My future," she added. "Shame, loss and stark terror swept over me."

The podcast host said she then calculated her next move, including having to tell the producers of "The Simple Life" the news as the show was about to premiere at the time.

"Worse than that, I'd have to tell my parents," she added. "I couldn't even wrap my head around it. At first, all I could do was cry. I felt like my life was over, and in many ways it was. Certainly, the career I had envisioned was no longer possible. Everything I wanted my brand to be, the trust and respect I was trying to rebuild with my parents, the sliver of self-worth I'd been able to recover -- all that was instantly in ruins."

Read the full excerpt, here.

Following the release of Hilton and Salomon's sex tape in 2003, the latter sued the former for defamation, per multiple outlets at the time. Hilton then countersued Salomon, claiming the video was meant only for "personal use." The two settled their lawsuits out of court in 2004. Salomon and Red Light District Video reportedly paid Hilton over $400,000.

Various media outlets have reached out to Salomon's reps for comment regarding the new excerpt.

"Paris: The Memoir" will be released on March 14.

Jason Sudeikis Confirms Ted Lasso Season 3 is 'The End'

{content:

He called viewers "kind" for considering multiple seasons and new iterations of the beloved show.

Jason Sudeikis says it's hard to say goodbye to "Ted Lasso."

In an interview with Deadline, the 47-year-old actor revealed he is sticking to his original intention to end his Emmy winning Apple TV series with the third season.

Sudeikis said that while fans may want more, the upcoming episodes wrapped up the comedy series in way he hopes they accept and understand.

"This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell," Sudeikis explained. "The fact that folks will want more and are curious beyond more than what they don't even know yet—that being Season 3—it's flattering."

He continued: "Maybe by May 31, once all 12 episodes of the season [have been released], they're like, 'Man, you know what, we get it, we're fine. We don't need anymore, we got it.' But until that time comes, I will appreciate the curiosity beyond what we've come up with so far."

According to the star, there have been talks of potential spin-offs and Sudeikis' co-creators Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly are open to the idea.

"Yeah, I think that we've set the table for all sorts of folks…to get to watch the further telling of these stories," he said.

Sudeikis reiterated his amazement towards fans' reception of Ted Lasso, "Again, I can't help but take the question as flattery for what all of us that were working on the show has tried to do."

He called viewers "kind" for considering multiple seasons and new iterations of the beloved show.

"You never know what's gonna happen when you make things," the actor admitted. "The fact that people want more, even if it's a different avenue is lovely."

Season three of Apple TV's "Ted Lasso" will premiere on March 15.

Sickening Jared Fogle Audio Bragging About Sex with Children Heard In New Documentary

{content:

The horrific and explicit phone calls include the Subway spokesman detailing how to get "whatever age we want" in Thailand and the "nice, pure bodies" of other children.

Warning: This article includes horrific quotes from actual Jared Fogle phone calls, in which he details sexual abuse of children.

Jared Fogle's crimes were detailed in a new ID documentary, "Jared from Subway: Catching a Monster," which includes some truly disturbing and downright sickening real-life phone calls of the Subway spokesperson bragging about and planning sex with children.

Fogle is currently serving 15 years in prison for sex crimes involving minors -- but getting him behind bars was not an easy task. In the doc, journalist Rochelle Herman opens up about how she spent years trying to get him arrested, after he shockingly admitted to her that he found middle school aged girls "hot" off-air before an interview she did with him for a Sarasota TV station.

She was horrified, but had no evidence at the time so didn't immediately go to the police. Instead, she started to speak with him over the phone, recording their calls as he became more comfortable with sharing his twisted thoughts, plans and actual crimes.

"I gave the appearance I was somebody he could confide in," Herman says in the doc, claiming that at first he was very "flirtatious" with her, before inviting her to his hotel room and asking her to put her hair in pigtails. She bolted, but still kept a long distance phone relationship going with him. Eventually, she asked him what turned him on about "very young" people -- with Fogle admitting, "They just have such nice, pure bodies, you know?"

At one point, she asked "how young" he wanted his sexual partners to be, as Fogle responded, "I don't know, middle school or whatever." When she asked, "Like 9 or 10?", he told her, "Yeah, that'd be hot. That'd be really hot."

As the conversations continued, Fogle asked "what kind of cute friends" her two children had, telling Herman, "I think that girl from the broken home could be a possibility, you know?" With that, she went to the FBI with her recordings -- and then started working with the agency for years, listening to his sick fantasies and real-life experiences.

At one point, she asked about the youngest person Fogle had been with, as he said, "I think 11 or 12 ... I don't remember her name." Unfortunately, since there was no physical proof of anything and the FBI couldn't locate any actual victims, they were slow to make any arrests.

As their conversations continued, Fogle was heard describing, in horrific detail, his "most unique" experience.

"I mean it was definitely Thailand. I would love you to go with me. We can get whatever age we want. It's just crazy, it's just easy over there," he said. "Different ages. I mean you just sort of choose who you want and there's a price for it and off you go."

According to Herman, Fogle frequently saw the same 10-11-year-old boy in the country, as viewers heard him describe one interaction as "so, so ******* hot." When she noted it wasn't feasible for him to "go to Thailand all the time," he responded by telling her, "No, that's why I've got to find some stuff over here, you know?"

By 2009, the FBI planned a sting operation with Herman, hoping to catch Fogle traveling to Florida with the specific intent of having sex with a minor. Herman invited him to Sarasota for a birthday party for her son and, as they spoke about the celebration, the conversations quickly turned sexual -- comments made by Fogle that are too disturbing to share here.

One of the calls also included Herman asking Fogle whether there was "any kind of personality" to look out for when it came to selecting children. "I think that girl from the broken home could be a possibility, you know," he said. After she reminded him the girl in question was only seven years old, he simply told her, "Okay, tell me about her."

Their conversations took a more personal turn, however, when Fogle began asking about Herman's own children.

"Will you do anything I tell you to do? Will you let me see your kids naked?" he asked her in one of the calls. "What if we put a camera in your kids' room? Would they be okay with that? Would you rather have it in your son or your daughter's room? Which one do you think would be better? Tell me."

The party never happened and the initial FBI investigation didn't lead to an arrest. Herman also turned to the local police department for help, but their hands were also tied. Fogle wouldn't get arrested until the FBI started looking into his business partner, Russell Taylor, as part of a bestiality investigation. That search led to a child porn investigation after hidden cameras and images were found inside Taylor's home -- including some which had been sent directly to Fogle.

Looking back at how being involved in Fogle's case affected her in the long run, Herman said, "The toll that working undercover for the FBI had on my health was astronomical."

"The PTSD that I have experienced because of this has been debilitating. I truly believe that when someone undergoes such a stressful situation for so many years, it makes you susceptible to other things," she said, adding that she was later diagnosed with reflex sympathetic dystrophy.

Herman said that while she doesn't regret helping Fogle's victims, she noted that they "tore my relationship with my children apart." Her son -- who moved to Taiwan -- also said it also led to a strained relationship between him and both his sister and mother.

Toward the end of the doc, Herman expressed disappointment in Fogle's eventual sentencing -- saying, "There's 14 victims. How is 15 years enough?"

"Jared from Subway: Catching a Monster" is streaming now on Discovery+.

Scary Moment Truck Crashes Into Cafe as Podcasters Record

{content:

"This episode definitely ended with a bang," said host Nathan Reeves while sharing footage of the accident.

We've never seen someone crash an interview quite like this before.

Just as November Romeo host Nathan Reeves was wrapping up his interview with photographer Alexsey Reyes at a Houston coffee shop over the weekend, the two were interrupted in terrifying fashion.

In footage Reeves shared from the incident, he's seen remarking how "quiet" it is inside the shop -- just as an SUV begins skidding out of control in view behind them. The vehicle then drives straight into the glass window they're recording in front of, smashing it to pieces as Reeves jumps out of the way and Reyes reacts in shock.

Both Reeves and Reyes appeared to be okay immediately after the crash, with the host saying into camera, "We're chilling, everyone's good."

"Holy s---, oh my god. What the f--- just happened, dude?" he then asked, as the scene continued to unfold in the background. "Thank god we are all okay! don't run reds," Reeves captioned the clip, joking, "This episode definitely ended with a bang."

Reyes later told Fox 26 Houston he "went into instant shock" when the crash happened, adding that he had some scratches from the glass. Reeves, meanwhile, was grateful the accident wasn't as bad as it could have been -- telling the outlet, "The table was like sealed into the ground so if that car went any further, I don't even like to think about that part."

The driver of the car was reportedly cited for running a red light -- which caused her to collide with another vehicle, before spinning out into the coffee shop.

Raquel Leviss Says Tom Sandoval Treats Her Like 'Little Sister' in Resurfaced Video

{content:

Leviss gushed about her Vanderpump costar in a July 2022 interview just prior to when the alleged affair began

Raquel Leviss has been an open admirer of Tom Sandoval well before news of their alleged affair broke last week.

The "Vanderpump Rules" stars have recently made headlines after Sandoval and his girlfriend Ariana Madix split after nine years following reports she discovered he had been cheating with Leviss.

Fans have unearthed an interview dating back to July 2022 where Leviss gushed about her close friendship with Sandoval in an interview with E! News during the grand opening festivities of his cocktail lounge, Schwartz & Sandys.

Andy Cohen Reveals 'Odd' Raquel-Scheana Moment from WWHL Days Before Affair Scandal

"Yeah, I've gotten really close with Scheana [Shay] and Ariana, and then Sandoval as well," the 28-year-old TV personality beamed. "I feel like he's become one of my best friends lately."

She didn't hold back on her praises, "He just is so in touch with himself and fully accepting of who he is and is so confident and — I don't know, I feel like he looks at me like a little sister and he's supporting me. And you know, [in] just a very kind way that I really, yeah, he's a really great guy."

Though neither Sandoval nor Leviss have publicly commented on their alleged affair, the 39-year-old restaurateur took to Instagram to share a Story post about how his recent spotlight has affected his businesses.

"Hey, I fully understand and deserve ur anger & disappointment towards me, but please leave [Tom] Schwartz, my friends and family out of this situation," he wrote earlier this week. "This was a very personal thing. They did nothing wrong. I will be taking a step back & taking a hiatus out of respect for my employees & partners. I need some time to address everything else. Sorry for everything."

According to E!, the rest of the "Vanderpump Rules" cast  -- including Scheana, Katie Maloney and Kristen Doute -- were pictured arriving at Ariana's house to show their support during this difficult time.

Doute later posted a selfie video on her Instagram Story that featured Ariana where she declared, "I stan Ariana. This is in real time."

Fans didn't stop with the July interview when it came to reverse engineering the alleged affair -- see the link below for more unearthed evidence.

Drew Barrymore Says Therapist Quit Over Her Drinking Habits Post-Divorce

{content:

"He just said, 'I can't do this anymore,'" the talk show host told the LA Times, recalling what her psychotherapist, Barry Michels, told her.

Drew Barrymore is recalling how her struggles with alcohol following her 2016 divorce from Will Kopelman affected not only herself, but also her personal relationships and friendships.

While speaking with The Los Angeles Times, the talk show host -- who has previously opened up about drinking to "numb the pain" of her divorce -- revealed her therapist of 10 years, Barry Michels, quit on her due to her excessive drinking.

"He just said, 'I can't do this anymore,'" said Barrymore, 48, recalling her conversation with Michels. "It was really about my drinking. I said, 'I get it. I've never respected you more. You see I'm not getting better. And I hope, one day, that I can earn your trust back.'"

"The Drew Barrymore Show" host and Kopeman called it quits after four years of marriage in 2016. The former pair share daughters Olive, 10, and Frankie, 8.

After the split, Barrymore said she turned to drinking to cope, telling the LA Times that she struggled after she moved from Los Angeles to New York. The move combined with the feeling that she let her daughters down caused her depression -- and therefore her drinking -- to get worse.

Like her therapist, the actress' friends became frustrated over Barrymore's post-divorce drinking, and confronted her.

The star's longtime friend, Cameron Diaz, recalled watching her friend go through such a dark time, telling the LA Times that it was "difficult to watch."

"But I knew that if we all stuck with her and gave her the support she needed, she would find her way," she said. "I have absolute faith in her. You can't even comprehend how hard it was to be her as a child, and then she shot out the other end with the ability to save herself."

However, Barrymore didn't make a real change until 2019, when the "opportunity" for her now-Emmy-nominated daytime talk show, "The Drew Barrymore Show," came about.

"I think the opportunity at a show like this really hit me," she recalled. "I was like, 'I can't handle this unless I'm in a really clear place.'"

The "Charlie's Angels" star explained that although she ultimately quit drinking, she doesn't describe herself as "sober."

"I kept thinking, 'I'll master this. I'll figure it out.' And finally, I just realized: 'You've never mastered this, and you never will,'" she said, later adding, "I don't stay stuck."

Two years after Michels quit on her, Barrymore reached out to the psychoanalyst, and the two started working together again.

The "Scream" star -- who described being a mom as "the role of my life" -- said she broke down after her daughters left for summer camp last year, and called Michels, who reminded her that Olive and Frankie were alright.

"This is not me being a bad mom. This is not my childhood," Barrymore said, reflecting. "There's a lot of stuff I have to work through."

Despite her self-work ahead of her, the "Ever After" actress appears to be optimistic -- thanks to her job and her daughters.

"My worth has been so wrapped up in this job and this life, because it's given me so much,
Barrymore told the LA Times. "I realized that just with me and my girls, I am truly happy. I'd always thought I'd be on this hamster wheel for this whole life. But maybe there will be something different before the lights go out."

Things are down to the wire for Zach Shallcross on "The Bachelor" this week as he had seven women left, but only four spots for next week's Hometown visits.

Greer Blitzer finally returned from Covid quarantine to rejoin the gang in Budapest, hoping that one of those spots could still be hers. But she definitely was going to have a fight on her hands.

Kat, again, was very much in her feelings and her insecurities, but she wasn't alone. In fact, a Group Date with a mentalist pulled out all sorts of fears in the women, leaving them feeling all kinds of ways about themselves.

This week also featured the final One-on-One dates of the season. The only person who hadn't had one at all at this point was Greer, meaning it was time for second One-on-One dates for most of the women -- and time for insecurities to rear their ugly heads for those who don't get one.

Zach continued his trend all season long of not dragging any woman along he wasn't feeling one hundred percent committed in. This week, in particular, he took extra time and care to ensure that he was confident about moving forward, as Hometowns is not something to be taken lightly.

"Nice Belly Slap"

Continuing to add fuel to our long speculation that the edit and the attention poured on Kaity Biggar is indicative that she will win this whole season, she became the first dual One-on-One date of the season.

Our evidence has been in how Zach tends to pull her first in Group Dates, steals moments with her -- and the fact that we even got flashbacks of their first One-on-One when she visited him during his own quarantine Covid. It was a lot of attention on one contestant's relationship.

For this one, they took in the sights and sounds and tastes of Budapest, Hungary and we got to see that Zach writes with a poetic flourish of language exactly equal to his neanderthalic usage of the spoken language. They took turns penning missives to one another on a public typewriter famous for love poems. Zach even said poems, but neither of them pulled that off.

Kaity shared with us via confessional that she's afraid to open up and let anyone into her heart because of how she's been hurt in the past, feeling rejected in particular by men in her life. That came to light with more clarity when she told Zach that both her father and a longtime boyfriend of her mother's she thought of as a father figure both abandoned the family.

Zach has lived a pretty sheltered life when it comes to these sorts of things, which left him completely flummoxed in how to respond with his perfectly happy parents and completely stable all-American home life. But, when Kaity started crying, he did comfort her and assure her that he sees something with her. It made her happy enough, as did the rose she scored, but that's the best you've got?

Maybe it's for the best that he didn't delve into this possibly having anything to do with her own insecurities about committing her heart to another man or he might have had to call her a ride.

Scheana Shay and Lala Kent Hit Back at Hypocrite Label Amid Tom Sandoval-Raquel Leviss Scandal

"Holy Shiitake Mushrooms"

Labib is a local mentalist and magician in Budapest and he properly freaked out the four women on the final Group Date of the season with his mentalism skills. For three of them, he was able to guess a word he was thinking of. Kat was reduced to tears before it even got that far.

Gabi shared that in a relationship she is seeking safety and comfort. Charity admitted that the reason her last relationship ended was infidelity, subsequently fearing that Zach would take that to mean she might have trust issues and not be all in. Ariel admitted that she is somewhat closed off because of her fear of heartbreak.

All three women came out of that experience a little rocked in their feelings about their relationships with Zach, but it was like watching a slow-motion trainwreck when Kat sat down.

When Labib asked her if she was ready for Zach to meet her family, she said, "Mmhmm," but after a long pause she changed her answer to "I think so." She then teared up and he didn't even bother to try and read her mind, because she wasn't hiding anything. It certainly raised red flags for Zach.

That night, he asked her about it and she assured him that she was all in; just reiterating that this whole journey has been really emotionally hard for her. She again took it badly that she wasn't chosen for a One-on-One this week, venting to and commiserating with other women who also weren't chosen.

During the evening portion, Gabi opened up about the whirlwind inside her head at all times and how much ADHD impacts her daily life. Her fear was that it would be too much for Zach, but he assured that he thinks she's ... fun?

Rebel Wilson Says Meghan Markle Not as 'Naturally Warm' as Prince Harry on First Meeting

It wasn't really an affirmation that he was on board with her just as she is, but maybe it was? It sat oddly with us, but Gabi felt better after he said it. And he must have wanted to assure her that it really was, because he gave her the Group Date Rose, too.

Charity shared that she still struggles to forgive herself for staying in that previous relationship that finally ended with infidelity. But she also assured Zach she was all in with him; she just got insecure that her talking about her past might make her worry about her commitment to this journey.

In this group setting, Zach chose Ariel first. If our rule of who he grabs first holds, because our predicted winner Kaity already having had a One-on-One, that would mean Ariel is likely our second-place finisher! We shall see. Zach is not subtle.

As for Kat, she continued to not do herself any favors and make Zach "nervous" by admitting that due to her own insecurities, she has a tendency to try and run away rather than face the chance of getting hurt.

She told him she's had that instinct on this journey, being totally honest, but that she's fought against it because she believes in the connection that they share.

Did Zach hear all of that? Is he able to acknowledge insecurity and applaud that she continues to fight through it? Or did he just hear that she almost walked and start questioning her commitment to him and this journey.

"This Is Hard"

The second One-on-One was a second date with Brooklyn, because at this point, Greer had still not arrived in Budapest. With this date, she had officially missed two full weeks of the competition, and growing her relationship with Zach.

He admitted at the top of this one that he felt a connection with Brooklyn, but was hoping it would deepen on this date. The outing itself proved a fun excursion, with a bike ride to a balloon ride up and overlooking the city.

They then took in "the ultimate spa house," where they met a couple recreating their first date at that exact spa house years ago; they'd been married now 25 years. It was all very sweet and romantic and the couple even said they could see how much Brooklyn was enamored with Zach.

She said again as much during the evening portion where she opened up about her own non-traditional family. After her father left, her grandfather stepped in as that father-figure for her, while her mother stepped up in other ways to support her rodeo passion.

She also shared that she doesn't bring people home to meet her family lightly; she wants to be sure she's sure she sees a future with this person before having them meet anyone. That was enough to send Zach fleeing to the producers to think about it all.

Ultimately, he decided that he wasn't all in with her enough to meet her family, and so a stunned group of women back at the hotel watched her luggage get taken out as Zach walked her to a limo and said goodbye.

The Voice Premiere 5th Judge: Singer from Blake Shelton's Hometown Plays Audio of Him Singing at 13

"It Is Literally Days Away"

Brooklyn's banishment came on the evening of the same day Greer returned to the competition. Making up for lost time, she made a beeline straight for Zach's hotel room to share that she was back and she was still all in with him.

Unfortunately for Greer, Zach tells her that his connections have grown with all of the other women and not with her and so it's time to say buh-bye, thanks for flying to Budapest and still believing in us, but it's not even worth letting her go to the Rose Ceremony?

Considering how the women rallied to support him through his own quarantine, it felt a little abrupt. But he was probably still irritated that she compared his being unable to participate that week and missing out to her experiences in sales when she had Covid.

That move by Zach led Nick Viall to call him a d---. if he wasn't going to even give her a chance, why not just video chat with her and tell her as much before she flew all the way to Budapest just to get dumped in a hotel room?

We get that he's following his heart (blah-blah-blah) and has to do what feels right for him, but it's pretty dismissive of Greer's feelings on the journey, and how much she'd put into it. She did say that she understood, but it's also true that she got the shaft due to circumstances beyond her control. If she was more interesting, we'd push for her to be the next Bachelorette, but ... nah.

The Final Four

After Brooklyn's departure, that left three women and two more roses ahead of Hometowns. There really was no suspense when it came to who was going to get those roses.

Ariel and Charity had raised no red flags during their time with Zach because neither of them gave any indication that they had ever considered leaving. As soon as Kat did that, she was a dead woman walking.

He'd used the same tone with Kat when she shared about her insecurities and her demons causing her to want to flee rather than face possible rejection that he used when Greer had tried to relate to his Covid experience (she can really relate now).

It was a somewhat harsh, dismissive tone that seems to indicate Zach has kind of stopped listening. He's heard what he thinks you mean and he didn't like it, so he's just going to keep pushing that narrative. And apparently, it's frustrating enough that he has no interest in whatever else you might have to say about it, even if it's important context to help with clarity.

Kat had been open and honest and vulnerable about her insecurities, but Zach has no time for insecurities ahead of Hometowns. He needs to know that his women are all in. He booted Brooklyn becuase he didn't feel all in with her, and booted Kat because she expressed hesitation with the mentalist about him meeting her family.

And so, Kaity (our front-runner), Ariel (our new second-runner-up), Charity and Gabi remain in the competition, heading for Hometowns next week. The week also features the always fun "Women Tell All" special on Tuesday night, which should get explosive.

"Mansion" Chatter

  • "When there is time that continues to be taken away, it is jeopardizing what Greer and I have." --Zach (she's had Covid)
  • "Quite frankly, that date, I was not expecting it to be that strong." --Zach (about One-on-One with Ariel)
  • "Just seeing 'fall in love.' Does he mean he's falling in love with Kaity? It's just unsettling." --Brooklyn (about Zach's One-on-One note to Kaity)
  • I'm really disappointed. I feel, like, not chosen." --Kat (after Kaity's One-on-One note arrives … and you weren't; that's kind of how it works)
  • "I learned that I'm like 80 percent British … You know what my original last name was? Shacklecross. And there's a town that still exists there." --Zach (to Kaity)
  • "The fact that I still get butterflies with her. And it's not, like, perfect, it just feels like it's real." --Zach (about Kaity)
  • "It actually boosts your appetite for everything." --Street Vendor (to Zach, with a naughty wink)
  • "You weren't supposed to see that." --Zach (to Kaity)
  • "Why didn't he choose me? I don't want to shut down or close off, but because of everything that's happened, it's making me feel like I want to protect myself. I know that's not something I should be doing, but when I feel like someone's not on the same page as you, like, doesn't he miss me as much as I miss him?" --Kat (after she doesn't get final One-on-One)
  • "I could get there, I could fall in love with him, but I'm being very cautious with my heart because of what all the men in my life have done." --Kaity
  • "I'm falling in love with him. I just need a little more time to be able to say that." --Kaity
  • "Holy shiitake mushrooms!" --Gabi (freaked out with mentalist)
  • "I'm like, shut the front door!" --Gabi (freaked out with mentalist)
  • "Are you ready to let Zach meet your family?" --Labib (during mentalist date).
  • "Mmhmm … … I think so … … [tears up]." --Kat
  • "Have you ever thought about walking away from this? --Labib
  • "Mmhmm." --Kat
  • "My dad is like, 'Ariel, you can't do the show, I know what they do there.' He was like, 'Orgies.' And I was like, 'I don't think you've been watching "The Bachelor." I think that's "Game of Thrones."'" --Ariel
  • "Ask me anything and I'll stupidly answer honestly." --Ariel (to Zach)
  • "That uncertainty feeling, that does make me nervous." --Zach (to Kat about her saying she thinks she's ready for him to meet her family)
  • "Outside of here and normally, I just escape when things get hard. I want to leave and give up, 'cause it's easier. But I know how good I feel about you and I and I would never just walk away from that." --Kat
  • "What I want is that forever love. I don't take an engagement lightly. It's forever and if you aren't ready for that, you need to let me know." --Zach
  • "It is literally days away and I have to do what feels right. Day 1 to now I'm just following my gut, my heart. To give a Hometown Rose I need to feel 100 percent confident that I see a future, and I don't feel that. I would never want to string you along." --Zach (to Greer, dumping her immediately after she comes back from quarantine)
  • "I have not ridden a bike since I was like 12 years old. They say it's like riding a bike, you just pick up where you left off." --Brooklyn
  • "I'm thinking about myself. And if that makes me selfish, I'm being selfish about my relationship." --Kat
  • "I think what scares me about introducing anyone to my family again is them seeing me so hurt in the past. I told myself I didn't want to bring someone back into their lives until I knew it was someone I truly saw a future with. And I truly feel like I'm at the point where I do see a future with you." --Brooklyn
  • "I'm looking at my own self and looking at Brooklyn and asking myself, do I feel that same confidence?" --Zach
  • "This is hard, but I want you to know. You do deserve the love I can't give you." --Zach (to Brooklyn)
  • "It felt so good to feel so strongly about someone so great." --Brooklyn (to Zach, leaving)

"The Bachelor" continues next Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Morgan Wallen - Tennessee Numbers Lyrics

Verse 1
Used to be our picture from her sister's wedding day
There on her lock screen, now it's just some ocean waves
Used to be a bunch of hearts right there beside my name
She used to never miss one, but these days that girl just lets it ring
Aw, but if she don't one day

Chorus
I'd say, "Damn, it's good to hear your voice, feels like it's been forever"
Ask her how's her mom and them and how's that West Coast weather?
Yeah, I know, it's late, I'm sorry
But, no, I swear I ain't that drunk
I know she won't and I don't blame her
But if she ever picked it up
I'd tell her it's my fault and I still love her
But she quit taking calls from Tennessee numbers

Verse 2
I bet she hides her accent so one asks her where she's from
And steers clear of whiskey 'cause it stirs them memories up
And there's a boy from back home that she still won't talk about
If he could talk to her right now

Chorus
He'd say, "Damn, it's good to hear your voice, feels like it's been forever"
Ask her how's her mom and them and how's that West Coast weather?
Yeah, I know, it's late, I'm sorry
But, no, I swear I ain't that drunk
I know she won't and I don't blame her
But if she ever picked it up
I'd tell her it's my fault and I still love her
But she quit takin' calls from Tennessee numbers
From Tennessee numbers

Bridge
I used to be the one and now I'm just an 8-6-5
If I could just talk to her maybe I could change her mind

Chorus
And I'd say, "Damn, it's good to hear your voice, feels like it's been forever"
Ask her how's her mom and them and how's that West Coast weather?
Yeah, I know, it's late, I'm sorry
But, no, I swear I ain't that drunk
I know she won't and I don't blame her
But if she ever picked it up
I'd tell her it's my fault and I still love her
But she quit takin' calls from Tennessee numbers

She got standards to me
Them shits standard to mе
I don't chase anymore now

So can you handle this lifestyle?
Shorty, this ain't for the weak
She gave me brains in the Jeep
Shop spend for the week
When they can't get the whole life
I cannot wait 'til you're all mine, all mine
You got the glow like a gold mine
You got the glove in your palm
And that would be a sad thing to waste
So I won't stand in the way
Marbella's way for the plane, take off
Take the Plain Jane off, put my hands on your waist

The Voice Premiere 5th Judge: Singer from Blake Shelton's Hometown Plays Audio of Him Singing at 13

{content:

New Coaches Niall Horan and Chance the Rapper pull out all the stops against Blake Shelton and the returning Kelly Clarkson -- plus, an incredible Sam Cooke cover takes everyone to church.

In case anyone forgot, Blake Shelton said over and over again that this was his last season on "The Voice." He did it alongside Kelly Clarkson, returning for her ninth season, and newcomers Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.

This first night of Blind Auditions was as much about these Coaches developing their competitively playful rapport as it was about finding new talent. We were pleased with the quick camaraderie that developed between all of them, but mostly were glad to see Kelly back to spar with Blake. She's been the best since Adam Levine at keeping him in check.

NBC has to be sweating bullets trying to figure out how to move forward without the old man who's been here since Day 1. He's as much of an institution for the network as the show itself. He brings so much personality and charm … let's just say, they better hope Kelly keeps having a good enough time to come back!

In a fun treat online (and maybe for a future episode), the new Coaches performed "Can't Take My Eyes Off You." The biggest surprise for fans online was to hear how beautiful of a tone Chance has when singing, as he doesn't usually dip into that talent. But it also emphasized that he should not be underestimated as a rapper, producer and singer!

Fair warning, since I'm safe at home, I'm probably going to be a little harsher than my colleagues Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper, Niall Horan, and Blake Shelton. But I might be nicer, too. Maybe.

And just for fun, I'm going to rank the performances from worst to first to see who my favorites are, and then see how they do as the season progresses.

Lizzo Skeptical Of Victoria Secret Show Return After Inclusivity Push

BLIND AUDITIONS

Emily Rhyne

("The First Cut Is the Deepest," Rod Stewart - 22, Ada, OK) Talk about a connection with a Coach, Emily grew up in Blake's hometown (not just state)! Alas, she hit a real sour note right off the top which actually elicited an audible groan out of us. She recovered nicely and had much better control after that, but the performance was surprisingly hesitant, like she was afraid to really belt. Honestly, it sounded like she lacked confidence in her own voice, offering shaky moments from start to finish and no real conviction in her sound. We loved that she took the rejection in stride and proceeded to bring out two gifts for her fellow Okie, Blake. She had a t-shirt signed by Ada musicians. She then revealed that he knew her grandpa, and had a recording of Blake at 13 years old after he went into a recording studio and laid down some tracks. It was actually incredibly adorable.

Results: No Chairs Turn

Star Martin

("No Woman No Cry," Bob Marley - 34, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands) A soca (soul of calypso) singer for the past several years, she now has songs on the radio throughout the Caribbean, but she's ready to have a big break on the mainland. Despite her soca success, Star opted to go with a more straightforward take on this Bob Marley classic. It was a little timid with a hesitant, shaky vibrato in her voice. We did enjoy the subtle cry in her voice and that tone, but she didn't really offer any moment or showcase to convince the Coaches what else she had in there. It's such a stylized song, playing it straight like that made her a huge risk because what if she had that limited range and ability?

Results: No Chairs Turn

Sorelle

("Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy," Queen - 15/20/21, Lexington, OH) A little shaky in some of their upper range solo work, this trio of sisters brought great harmonies and some fun arrangements to a quirky track. They definitely were making a statement about how they see themselves as artists with their song choice, how they approached it and even their cute little choreography. There were also some strong solo moments sprinkled throughout, giving a lot of potential with Coaching to bring out the very best they have to offer both together and individually.

Results: Chance, Blake Turn [Team Chance]

Selena Gomez 'Heart Has Been Heavy' Amid Hailey Bieber Drama, TikTok Return

Tasha Jessen

("River," Leon Bridges - 20, Colorado Springs, CO) Facing religious persecution as a Christian in Pakistan, her family fled. She got her U.S. Visa just last year and is now pursuing her dreams of making it as a singer and songwriter. We wish she'd have spent a little more time in her lower register as she has a really sweet tone down there. Instead, she started in her upper range and stayed there through so much of the song. We'd have liked a little more bluesy sound on the track, but there's no denying she has a great instrument. If she can take guidance, she could really grow in interesting ways.

Results: Chance, Niall, Blake Turn [Team Blake]

Michael B.

("Save Your Tears," The Weeknd - 29, Los Angeles, CA) Michael's dream was Broadway for so long. He auditioned for everything, but it never happened for him, so now he's going a different route with his music and dream. He said he's expanding more into pop and soul as a singer. With this song, it was all about if he was going to go for that first high note, and he was effortless climbing up there. Yes, you could hear that musical theater background in his tone, but it made for a very full sound which suited the song well. That said, he needs to work on pulling back some of those theatrical excesses to go with a more emotionally resonant connection. This made us believe he could get there, and we could not deny the control and range he has with a very clean, pure voice.

Results: Niall Turns [Team Niall]

D.Smooth

("Perfect," Ed Sheeran - 25, Birmingham, AL) An unexpected vocal take on the track, there were moments of this that were -- ahem -- "perfect," while others felt like he was losing the pitch a bit. It could have been nerves, but it pulled us in and out of the performance more than we liked. There is something very intriguing about his tone in that it's a sound that feels solid, but not yet defined. It feels like D.Smooth could be chameleonic on his journey, sliding effortlessly into different styles and genres.

Results: Kelly, Niall Turn [Team Kelly]

Scheana Shay and Lala Kent Hit Back at Hypocrite Label Amid Tom Sandoval-Raquel Leviss Scandal

Holly Brand

("Mississippi Girl," Faith Hill - 22, Meridian, MS) At just 10 years old, Holly got to perform on the first big stage she'd ever been on -- and it was to open for Blake. She was rooting for him to turn around before she even hit the stage. She competed in Miss America last year, as well, pushing her music through the pageant circuit for nearly a decade. Now, she put her voice forward for this opportunity and ironically, Blake was the only chair she didn't turn. She missed just a few notes and tried to shake her pretty singing to find a little more grit. She also showed some impressive falsetto moments (and even whistle notes), a strong vibrato and a lot of range that hints at the same kind of crossover success Faith Hill enjoyed. It's a very commercial sound in any genre.

Results: Kelly, Chance, Niall Turn [Team Kelly]

Alex Whalen

("Help Me Make It Through the Night," Sammi Smith - 43, Indian Rocks Beach, FL) This Engishman plays music for a living, but said that it's kind of soul-destroying singing in the background of people's days and nobody cares about you or what you're doing. He's got that weathered texture in his voice that sounds special even when he's singing mellow as he gets through a verse. When he let loose just a fraction on the chorus, that grit we knew was in there came out, but so did a great little cry. It's a great instrument that he has, and one we think would be hard to ignore playing live. His experience shines through and creates an overall package we could see people really rooting for.

Results: Chance, Blake Turn [Team Blake]

Neil Salsich

("Honky Tonk Blues," Hank Williams Jr. - 34, St. Louis, MO) Neil could have just given a straightforward honky tonk rendition of this, but instead he put some special flare on this performance that pushed him from throwback country sound to someone really interesting. That raspy twang-break got Chance to turn around immediately and revealed that there's an artist in there who knows how to stand out. On top of that, it was just a solid vocal throughout with good pitch and a great, laid back energy. We fully believed in him when he said country music is just one of the "wells he drinks from."

Ross Clayton

("Blue Ain't Your Color," Keith Urban - 33, McCloud, OK) Ross set aside his burgeoning music career to focus more on family, taking a more traditional 9-5 to pay the bills and be able to stay home more. Now, he said it's been nearly five years since he's really performed at all, but with the kids a little older, his wife kept urging him, "Take a chance." Right off the bat, we believed him, which is so important for storytelling. You could tell he's a seasoned vet, and you could not tell he's taken any time away from gigging. The texture of his voice fit like a warm blanket at night, with just a hint of ragged around the edges. Add to that a few moments where he went high and proved he could to that long, sustained note that impressed everyone, and Ross is a real threat on this show. He's authentic and incredibly talented and so ready.

Savion "NOIVAS" Wright

("A Change Is Gonna Come," Sam Cooke - 30, Hutto, TX) His father and grandfather were on the frontlines in the fight for racial equality, so the message of this song really hits home for NOIVAS. Before he even showed us the full church of his voice, all four chairs had turned and Blake was Blocked by Chance. He was taking no chances (heh) that the cowboy might come in and swoop up this incredibly special artist. The pain and weight that he carries as an ambassador for the fight and for the culture and for his people was incredible. You could hear it from the first note; it was a performance filled with such passion and commitment. It just got better from the first note, with power and grit and stank. Every choice he made served the message and the performance, leaving everyone breathless.
