You've got to feel for Storm centre Justin Olam.

In the 54th minute of his side's 26-18 win over South Sydney the barnstorming centre came up with an error that had a hint of Marty Bella about it.

The Storm were coming off their line when Olam dropped a tough pass behind him, but the referee called it a knock back. Unfortunately Olam had no clue. As Souths players peeled away from him, the centre got to his feet and rolled the ball behind him while facing the sideline.

Storm teammate Cameron Munster was stumped by the play as the centre turned around and realised what took place.

"What's he doing? He must have thought he made an error," Andrew Johns said during Nine commentary.

"What happened there?" asked Phil Gould.

"I think he thought they ruled knock on," Johns replied.

"The ball goes backwards and they say play on. Justin thinks he's made a boo-boo. He gets up and just throws it away."

"He's not knocked out is he?" Gould added.

"He's facing St Kilda. I don't know what that was."

The mistake was a costly one at the time when the Rabbitohs' Latrell Mitchell crossed in the corner. It made the score 24-18 after Adam Reynolds kicked the sideline conversion.

Fortunately for Olam, Souths shot themselves in the foot several times in the last ten minutes and fell short, allowing the Storm to get out of jail and post the win.
