The English Premier League have seen a lot of football stars who have shown like a million stars in one season but failed to replicate such performance in the next season.

Notjustok has decided to highlight the one-season wonders of the English Premier League.

(1) Michu: Swansea, 2012/13

Michu was one of the best players that graced the Premier League with his class during the 2012/13 seasons. He scored 18 league goals that season before going into the shadows.

(2) Roque Santa Cruz: Blackburn, 2007/08

He joined Blackburn from Bundesliga top side, Bayern Munich in the summer transfer window of 2007. He scored 19 goals in his first season and went on to just nine goals in his next three seasons.

(3) Papiss Cisse: Newcastle United, 2011/12

The Senegalese set a high bar for himself in his first season at the Magpies. He scored 13 goals in his first 14 games but the goals dried up for him from then going forward.

(4) Asamoah Gyan: Sunderland, 2010/11

The Ghanaian joined Sunderland after his fantastic performance at the 2010 FIFA World Cup which was hosted in South Africa. Gyan scored 10 goals and had four assists to his name. He left the Premier League after one season to the UAE.

(5) Robinho: Manchester City, 2007/08

The Brazilian was Manchester City's big signing when the new owners took over the club. He scored 14 goals in his first season but failed to find the back of the net all through the following season.
