Chelsea Star Receives Prestigious FWA Footballer Of The Year 2023 Award

Chelsea FC star player has received the prestigious FWA Footballer Of The Year 2023 award for the second time.

With over 25 goals in the 2022/2023 season for Chelsea so far, Samantha Kerr has been crowned the Women's Footballer Of The Year 2023 by Football Writers' Association (FWA) for the second time following her masterclass in the 2022/2023 season for Chelsea.

Chelsea FC confirmed this in an official statement that read:

For the second season running Sam Kerr has won the prestigious Football Writers' Association Women's Footballer of the Year award following another special campaign representing Chelsea Women. The striker already has 26 goals to her name this term and has played a crucial role in our fight to win silverware on four different fronts.

Kerr, who brought up a century of Chelsea appearances in February and of course marked the occasion by scoring against Arsenal in an FA Cup win, has spearheaded the Blues attack displaying her customary movement, link-up play, and predatory and precise finishing. She has scored four goals in a game on two separate occasions, and also netted a hat-trick against Liverpool in the FA Cup.
