Clippers Win Battle of LA as Russell Westbrook Taunts LeBron James

The latest win by the Los Angeles Clippers over local rivals Los Angeles Lakers, their 11th in a row, came off the back of a solid performance by Russell Westbrook against his former employers.

The Clippers ran out 125-118 winners, and the revenge game completed by Westbrook was certainly the talk of the town. He scored 14 points, collected three rebounds and four assists, as well as a steal and a block in an all-round display, the type of which he rarely produced while in a Lakers jersey.

The win was followed by victories over the Portland Trail Blazers and the Phoenix Suns, and the Clippers are now safely through to the playoffs and if you are a fan considering backing Tyronn Lue's team to make an impact in the postseason then Sidelines sports betting website will offer you key insights into the relevant providers you might choose to place your wager with.

The Clippers, who have, of course, never won an NBA Championship title, will look to Westbrook to push them onwards in the playoffs, where they'll play the Phoenix Suns, with the home-court advantage going to the Arizona franchise.

On his team-mate's display, Paul George stated in a recent podcast that it was clear Westbrook had revenge on his mind right away;

I saw it from the beginning, Russ was gonna have a big game,

Russ wanted this one. You could see it from the moment the ball was tipped off. I was specifically watching to see because I've seen Russ when he's locked in, in Oklahoma.

When he was first guarding (Austin) Reaves, Reaves threw the shot. He tried to smack the sh*t out of it. I was like, 'Yeah, Russ is not going for nothing tonight.

Westbrook did not have the best of times at the Lakers and was often used as a scapegoat for the team's failures during his season and a bit at the franchise prior to being sent to the Jazz ahead of signing with the Clippers in February.

Meanwhile, the Lakers will have to make do with a spot in the play-in tournament, which arguably is the best they could have expected after a very up-and-down campaign, and they will be looking to LeBron James to make an impact.

The Lakers won their final regular season game against the Utah Jazz, and James took to Instagram to voice his happiness at making it to the postseason, stating;

My last regular season game in year 20 was fun fun, fun!!!! To be continue folks! Love.

The Lakers finished the regular season on a high, winning nine of their final 11 games, and Le Bron racked up 36 points in their clash with the Jazz and now sets his sights on the Minnesota Timberwolves, who they host at the Crypto.com Arena.

LeBron called out team-mate Rui Hachimura as a potentially crucial player in that clash, with the 25-year-old coming off the bench to score 12 points against the Jazz;

Just a super competitor. He wants to be great. He wants to be held accountable. He's always asking me what he can do better to help this team, how he can be better to help this team. Cause he wants to.

LeBron commented on his fellow Lakers player.
