Agust D Of BTS Overtakes Wizkid And Davido On The Apple Music Charts Nigeria With 'D-Day'

Agust D has recorded a huge debut on the Apple Music Charts for Nigeria with his latest album titled 'D-Day,' released on Friday, April 21, 2023.

Agust D, of the biggest group in the world today, BTS, achieved massive success with his album 'D-Day' on the charts in different parts of the world. Nigeria was not left out as the rapper with 'D-Day' dominated the Apple Music Top Albums Chart, Top Videos and also Top Songs chart for Nigeria, overtaking projects by top artists such as Wizkid and Davido on the chart.

'D-Day,' after a day of tracking, held the number 25 spot on the general apple music top albums chart, surpassing Wizkid's debut project on the chart, 'Superstar.'

Music videos released off the 'D-Day' album by Agust D also held two spots on the general Top Videos chart for Apple Music in Nigeria as 'Haegeum' the lead single off the album, held the number 53 position and 'People pt 2' which features IU also held the number 83 position on the chart.

'D-Day' hit number one on the Apple Music Top Albums Chart for Pop, surpassing Joeboy's 'Body & Soul' album and Davido's 'A Good Time' album as well. Agust D also saw 7 out of the 10 songs off the album debut in the Apple Music Top Songs Pop Chart for Nigeria as well.

'Haegeum' held the highest position at 89, with 'People Pt 2' coming in at number 129, 'Huh?! which features J-Hope at 155, 'D-Day' at number 156, 'AMYGDALA' at 171, 'SDL' at number 190 and 'Snooze' at number 193.

The Apple Music Charts for Nigeria was not the only place Agust D made his debut in Nigeria; the rapper also saw two songs off his album ' Haegeum' and 'People pt 2' also debuted and re-entered the Spotify Nigeria Top Songs Chart. 'Haegeum' made its debut on the Spotify Top Songs Nigeria chart with over 6000 streams at number 169, and 'People pt 2', which features IU, made a chart re-entry at number 189 with over 5900 streams.

Agust D achieved a new peak on the Spotify Top Artists Chart for Nigeria at number 65 as well.

Agust D has joined other members of the group to record official debuts on the Apple Music and Spotify Charts for Nigeria as a group and with their solo projects as well.

The hope of Arsenal Football Club winning the Premier League title for the first time in almost two decades has suffered a huge setback.

The Gunners were held to a 3-3 scoreline against the team at the bottom of the table ( Southampton) at the Emirates Stadium on Friday, April 21st, 2023. Arteta praised his players for their performance despite the disappointing result against the Saints.

He said at the post-match press conference after the game.

Arsenal dropped six massive points in their last three league games against Liverpool, West Ham United and Southampton). The Gunners saw their eight points lead over Manchester City cut down to five points with the Cityzens having two games in hand.

Arsenal will travel to the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, April 27th, 2023 to face Man. City in one of the most relevant game of their season.

12 Players Reportedly Set to Leave Manchester United this Summer (2023)

There is expected to be a massive exodus of players who are most likely going to leave Manchester United at the end of this football season.

The decision to let these players leave the club was reportedly taken after Manchester United was knocked out in the Quater final of the Europa League by Sevilla. According to reports from the club, at least 12 players will leave and they look to bring in more players and also balance the books.

Erik Ten Hag

Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial, and David De Gea are the top players that could leave the club this summer. De Gea is out of contract this summer and United will offer him a new deal if he is willing to take a major reduction on his current £375,000-a-week salary.

The duo of Fred and Scott McTominay are also on the list, with Ten Hag looking to clear out players that will not be able to contest for trophies. Other clubs include Anthony Elanga, Donny van de Beek, and Brandon Williams, as well as those currently out on loan, like Eric Bailly and Alex Telles.

Loan signings Wout Weghorst and Marcel Sabitzer will also return to their respective parent clubs, Burnley and Bayern Munich, at the end of the season.

According to reports, Canadian rapper Drake might be forced to pay a popular Ghanaian singer Obrafour up to 10 million dollars.

Grammy award-winning rapper has been hit with a 10 million dollar lawsuit by popular Ghanaian singer Obrafour for sampling his 2003 hit song 'Ohene remix' on his 2022 popular song 'Calling My Name' without the singer's permission.

According to Daily Mail UK, Obrafour and his legal team claimed that Drake had only requested for permission to use the song a week before its release.

Imran H. Ansari who is Obrafour's legal representative in an exclusive interview with Daily Mail UK stated:

'It's such a blatant rip and sample from our client's song. More so, we have as part of the complaint the emails from the woman that clears rights for Drake, reaching out to our client via email and not waiting for him to get the permission.  Then Drake dropped the sort of secret album, if you will, without getting the right clearances owned by my client.

'Quite frankly, it's insulting to an artist who is a musician of some popularity, especially in their home country, who takes pride in the creative work that they have put together,' Ansari argued. 'Only to find out that it's just disregarded in the sense that Drake samples from his work without permission. The emails are indicative that he knew he needed to do so. And he didn't do so.'

The lawsuit also stated:

'The copying of the Sampled Phrase in the Infringing Work is so direct in nature that the audio of the Sampled Phrase heard in the Infringing Work contains little or no audible manipulation, processing, or other alteration to its original character as heard in the Copyrighted Work.'

'To date, over the mere 304 days that have elapsed since the Infringing Work was released, the Infringing Work has already been streamed over 4.1 million times on YouTube, streamed over 47,442,160 times on Spotify, and streamed tens of millions of times on Apple Music.'

This would, however, not be the first time a foreign artist would be called out for copyright infringement, as Mr. Eazi also took to social media to call out Bad Bunny for the same as well.
